Bears For Kids

Build plush pals and support kits for children facing illness, displacement, and other difficult circumstances.

Overview

Bears For Kids is a meaningful team experience where groups complete collaborative challenges and create personalized encouragement kits for children going through difficult situations. Teams work together through a series of interactive activities before assembling care packages that may include plush companions, children’s books, encouragement cards, clothing accessories, and other thoughtful comfort items. The completed kits are donated to organizations supporting children and families facing medical challenges, crisis situations, emergency displacement, foster care transitions, and other difficult moments.

Who this program is right for:

  • Teams that want to build morale in a meaningful way.
  • Teams that believe in giving back to their community.

Goals

  • Create meaningful support packages for children facing difficult circumstances.
  • Personalize encouragement kits with thoughtful touches, messages, and accessories.
  • Practice teamwork, problem-solving, and coordination through interactive activities.
  • Strengthen relationships through collaborative and supportive team challenges.

Agenda & Activities

Welcome (5 minutes) Our staff welcome participants to the event and get everyone ready for a meaningful and engaging service project.

Team Up! (5-10 minutes) We lead fun warm-up activities that also randomly create small teams. Teams take a few moments to create a name and slogan for their team, and build some team spirit and unity.

Event Intro (5 minutes) Our fun and professional staff explain the mission, introduce the children who will receive the kits, and review the event components to ensure a smooth start.

Team Challenges (45-60 minutes) Teams complete a series of collaborative activities designed to build interaction, teamwork, creativity, and momentum before the kit building portion of the event. Possible challenges include:

  • Connection Challenges: Teams complete quick activities that help them interact, communicate, and build team energy.
  • Creative Missions: Teams create short messages, slogans, or designs that connect to encouragement, resilience, and support.
  • Puzzle Challenges: Teams solve brain teasers, trivia, or problem-solving tasks that require collaboration and clear thinking.
  • Team Spirit Challenges: Teams take fun photos, complete lighthearted missions, or create brief team highlights that add energy to the event.

Plush Pal Build (10-15 minutes) Teams assemble their plush pals and personalize them with clothing accessories, notecards, and other thoughtful touches.

Support Kit Assembly (15-20 minutes) Teams fill support kits with plush pals, children’s books, encouragement cards, and other comforting items for children facing illness, displacement, and other difficult circumstances.

Wrap-Up (10 minutes) At the end of the program, teams display their completed kits, share highlights from the experience, and celebrate the collective impact of the donation. We end with a fun closing activity and a great group picture.
