Welcome to the world of corporate espionage! In today’s highly competitive and international business climate, information is the most valuable resource a company has. Your team of crack investigators is hot on the heels of a group of nefarious hackers who have made off with incredibly sensitive information, and have hidden it all over the world. Soon they will sell this information to the highest bidder. Your team has managed to confiscate a briefcase from one of the spies, your first major break in the case. Now all you have to do is figure out how to get into it, and then decipher the encrypted information within it in order to access the various locks, files and websites that have been utilized. But the hackers are on their way back, and you only have 90 minutes to unlock as many files as you can, and still get out of the room.

Welcome & Warm-Ups (5 minutes) Atlanta Challenge staff welcome the participants and set expectations for the event. We then lead some fun warm-up activities that also randomly create small teams.

Team Up (5 minutes) Teams take a moment to get to know each other and who they will be working with.

Tutorial (10 minutes) Our staff members hand out supplies to the teams, and review the rules and timeline for the program. We also provide some basics of clue solving and code cracking.

The Escape (90 minutes)

  • Corporate Documents: Each team will receive a packet of letters, calendar entries, newspaper clippings, and more related to the company and important people. Careful examination can reveal a lot.
  • Team vs. Team Espionage: Teams are able to lock (or unlock) items in another teams’ “room”. Is this thing a competition, or a collaboration?
  • Challenges: Once teams have the access codes, they will enter one of the challenge stations around the room to attempt to gain access to more secured areas.

Scoring (5 minutes) Teams reconvene at the starting area to finalize their scoring and begin working on their teamwork presentations.

Debrief – Optional (20 Minutes)

Wrap-Up (5 minutes) At the end of the program, the teams all share their experiences and the lessons they have learned. We end with a fun closing activity and a great group picture.
