Think Like A Leader

A half-day workshop that develops a leader’s ability to motivate and guide their team effectively.

Overview

Through a combination of cutting-edge tools, interactive learning, and hands-on projects, leaders gain valuable insights into effective leadership. We focus on two main areas: leadership style and team requirements. Participants identify their current leadership style and how that style impacts their team. Next, we discuss the key areas that teams need leadership in and help each participant develop a personal action plan for developing their team for long-term success.

Agenda & Activities

Leadership Inventory Survey Before the program, each participant will evaluate their leadership attributes and blind spots.

Pre-event Consult (30 minutes) The team leader and the facilitator review the group information and align on outcomes to ensure a successful program.

Welcome & Warm-Ups (5-10 minutes) Your Atlanta Challenge facilitator welcomes the group and sets expectations for the event. We lead a warm-up activity that gets the group moving and ready to participate fully.

Ideal Leader Exercise (30 minutes) Participants review the traits of great leaders and then create an “inventory” of essential leadership qualities. They compare this to their own leadership inventory and look at how their leadership style affects their team’s performance.

Thinking Styles Module (45 minutes) An interactive learning game where participants gain valuable insights into their individual thinking and management styles and how this impacts the people they lead.

Teamwork Compass® (20-30 minutes) An interactive conversation about the 4 key ingredients of successful teams, how different team members have a stronger affinity for some of those ingredients, and how to bring them all together to be a cohesive team. Participants then develop their strategy for optimizing the needs of their team.

Pressure Cooker (30 minutes) Small groups brainstorm and provide each other with feedback on their team optimization plan using the whole-brain format to ensure a greater likelihood of success

Leadership Challenge (30-60 minutes) This hands-on activity requires brainstorming, collaboration, planning, and creative problem-solving. Participants will identify and utilize different leadership strategies and discuss how to use them to guide their teams successfully.

Closing Debrief & Wrap-up Activity (10-15 minutes) The group acknowledges the day’s accomplishments and discusses how to incorporate the lessons into their work and life. We end with a fun closing activity and team picture.

Post-event Leader Consult (20-30 minutes) The program facilitator will talk with the team leader to share insights and suggestions for maintaining momentum afterward.

Virtual Group Follow-up (45-60 minutes) Approximately one month after the event, your facilitator will host a virtual follow-up session to review key concepts, answer questions, discuss best practices, and assist with creating action plans.
